¶ Fishing "Items"
While you can find some real items when fishing with Dank Memer, most of the items you use and find are not like other items in the bot.
With the fishing update, a new type of item was created. These fishing items are only available through the fishing commands, and cannot be traded to friends or bought/sold on the market. Since fishing "items" are not regular items, they also aren't required for bundles and won't appear in /inventory or /currencylog.
You can only see what your tools and baits through the equipment button in the /fish catch command or in /fish guide. You can see the creatures you own in /fish buckets, and can use /fish log to track where your creatures are going or coming from. Read more about the new fish commands here.

The below info gives you a general idea of where to find each item, but is not a complete list of every possible location and simply gives a few main sources.
¶ Tools
The old fishing pole item was retired, and all new tools were created for the fishing update in 2023. These tools can be found in the Tool Box item, which is obtainable around the bot, or purchased from the /fish shop. They can also be gifted or traded to you by a fishing NPC.
Each tool has slightly different abilities when fishing, and a different durability or number of times it can be used. Some tools can be improved by upgrading certain skills in /fish skills.

¶ Baits
There are tons of possible baits you can use while fishing, and each one has a different benefit. You can view the description for each bait in /fish guide once you've unlocked it, or from the equipment menu on /fish catch.

¶ Buckets
All the creatures caught while fishing won't enter your normal Dank Memer /inventory and instead are stored in buckets. You can manage your buckets and sell creatures with the /fish buckets command. Each bucket has a different storage capacity, but you can increase how much your buckets can hold and unlock more bucket slots by upgrading the Storage Specialist skill in /fish skills. You can only unlock a bucket one time, but there are a variety of buckets you can buy and earn.
You can only have one of each bucket, and can use 5 buckets at a time (6 if you purchase a temporary bucket spot with gems).

¶ Creatures
The creatures you can catch while fishing cannot be collected like with the previous command. You can keep a few in your fish tank or a spare bucket, but most will have to be sold.
Each creature has a specific time UTC that it is available, a certain location it can be found, and most have at least one variant you can catch. Check out a complete list of the possible creatures, their times, locations, and variants here.
¶ Fish Tank Decorations
If you want to save a few of your favorite fish, you can put them in one of your fish tanks. You can own up to 5 fish tanks, and each tank can hold up to 5 fish if you upgrade the Aquarium Keeper Skill. To own more than one tank, purchase more from the Fish Shop.
To put a fish in your tank, use the /fish buckets command. Select a bucket, then a fish, and click move. To remove a fish from your tank, use the /fish tank command, go to the tank that has the fish, press the manage button, select a fish, and click remove.
You can also get decorations to put in your fish tank from the /fish season and /fish shop. Your tank can hold a limited number of fish and decorations, but if you upgrade the Aquarium Keeper skill, you can increase what the tank can hold.
